so i just got the dji air 3 because i wanted to take some cool clips for my trip to the florida keys next tuesday but honestly im struggling so much. i tried flying it yesterday at the park near my house just to practice and every single video i took looks like super bright and weirdly choppy? like the sunlight is just killing everything and i can barely see the trees. i talked to a guy at the park and he said i need nd filters but i literally have no idea what those even are or how they work. i looked them up on amazon and there are like 100 different brands and numbers like nd16 and nd64 and i am totally overwhelmed. do i need a specific brand for the air 3 or will any of them work? i really dont want to spend more than like 60 or 70 bucks because the drone was already super expensive but i need to get them delivered before monday night so i can pack them. sorry if this is a really stupid question but do i need one for each lens since there are two cameras on this thing or is it one piece? i just want my beach footage to look smooth and not like a white mess of light. what should i actually buy for a beginner...

Man, you are going to love the Air 3! The Florida Keys sunlight is crazy brutal tho, so you definitely need filters to fix that choppy look. Trust me, it makes a massive difference! Since the Air 3 has two lenses, the filter is actually just one solid piece that snaps right over the whole camera housing... super easy. For your budget, you gotta check these out:

I have been flying for a long time and honestly used to have the same white mess issues before i learned about shutter speeds. That choppy look is just your shutter being way too fast because its too bright out. You want it at double your frame rate... basically 1/60 if you are shooting at 30fps. I have been using a budget set for a while now and i am very satisfied with the results. I went with the Skyreat ND Filters Set for DJI Air 3 and they have been great.

  • They are way cheaper than the premium brands but the optical glass is actually solid.
  • I have had zero issues with color shifting which usually happens with cheap stuff.
  • You get a 6-pack for around 50 bucks so it fits your budget perfectly.
  • Like the other guy said it is just one piece that snaps over both lenses so you dont need to buy separate ones. Ngl i was worried about the quality since the price was low but i have no complaints after using them for six months. Make sure you use the ND64 when you get to the Keys because that tropical sun is brutal.
