Just got a Mavic 3 for a big hike in Colorado next month and honestly I have no idea how to pack it without it breaking. Sorry if this is a dumb question but what plastic hard case should I buy? My budget is under $100 and I just need something simple that works...

  • Lykus is a decent option but honestly it might be a bit bulky for a big hike. I prefer the Smatree DH1000M3 Waterproof Hard Case for DJI Mavic 3 because its more streamlined. Climbing mountains is hard enough without dead weight. Quick tip: make sure it has a pressure valve. Altitude shifts in Colorado can literally vacuum-seal your gear shut.

Dude, congrats on the Mavic 3! It is literally an amazing drone and the footage you are gonna get in Colorado will be insane! Since youre hiking, you definitely need something that can take a beating if you drop your pack or get caught in a sudden downpour. I have been using the Lykus Titan M310 Waterproof Hard Case for DJI Mavic 3 for months and it is fantastic. Its super rugged, fits the drone and the RC perfectly, and honestly feels like it should cost way more than sixty bucks. I have literally dropped mine down a small rocky slope and everything inside was totally fine... talk about a lifesaver lol. It fits your budget perfectly too. TL;DR: Get the Lykus Titan M310 Waterproof Hard Case for DJI Mavic 3, its cheap, tough as nails, and fits everything you need for under $70.

^ This. Also, honestly its ridiculous how much these companies expect us to pay for what is basically a glorified lunchbox. It drives me crazy that you can spend thousands on a DJI Mavic 3 and then have to stress about a case falling apart on a Colorado trail because the manufacturer used the cheapest hinges possible.

  • It is such a scam how brands keep raising prices while the actual build quality keeps dropping across the board.
  • Be careful with those budget brands because the seals are usually trash and wont hold up to real mountain pressure shifts regardless of what the marketing says.
  • Honestly even the expensive premium brands are cutting corners now compared to a few years ago, it is all just a race to the bottom for profit.
  • I would suggest being very cautious because most of these companies dont actually care about your gear once they have your money.
