Is there seriously no way to just send a full Amazon cart to someone else? I have been sitting here for two hours in Ohio trying to help my dad get everything ready for his garage renovation and I am about to lose my mind. I picked out all the specific organization bins and power tools he needs because he isnt great with tech but I cant find a simple button to just hand the cart over to him. I looked online and people mentioned some Share-a-Cart browser extension thing but the reviews look kinda shady and I really dont want to risk putting weird software on his laptop. I also saw the thing about making a public wishlist but that seems like a total nightmare because he would still have to click every single item and add it back to his cart one by one which he will definitely mess up or buy the wrong size of something. The contractor is supposed to start work on Monday so I need these tools here by Friday at the latest. Does Amazon have a hidden feature for this or is there a way to do it through the app that isnt a total headache? I just want him to be able to click one link and pay with his own card without me having to log into his account and deal with two-factor authentication for the tenth time today...
@Reply #1 - good point! I had the exact same nightmare when I was setting up my home gym last year! But listen, there is actually a fantastic trick with the public wishlist. If you send him the link, there is a sneaky Add all to cart button at the top. It is amazing because it moves everything at once so he wont miss a single screw! Tbh it totally saved my sanity!
Man, I feel your pain. I spent an entire weekend last summer trying to do the exact same thing for my uncle when he was rebuilding his deck. I thought for sure a company as big as Amazon would have a simple share button by now but they really make it way harder than it needs to be for some reason. I have looked at those third-party extensions like the one you mentioned and honestly, I would suggest being super careful. Some of them track your browsing data or have access to way too much info, which is a major red flag if you are worried about your dads security. I eventually found a workaround using the list feature that actually works if you follow a specific order. I tried just sending links at first but he kept getting the wrong sizes for the shelving units. Here is what I did to keep things simple and avoid the two-factor mess:
^ This. Also, I totally get the hesitation with those browser extensions because I am the exact same way. I had a nightmare scenario once where I tried a random tool to help me sync a shopping list for a shed build and it basically broke my browser till I wiped the cache... not fun. My current setup involves being super careful about how those items get grouped together because Amazon can be weird about taxes and shipping speeds depending on the state too. Here are some things I learned the hard way while trying to manage a big order for someone else:
