What external flash are you guys actually using on the Canon EOS R bodies without it feeling like a massive brick or losing high-speed sync? I moved over from the 5D line and my old 430EX II is acting so glitchy with the new multi-function shoe pins on my R6 II. Its weirdly inconsistent. I have a big wedding shoot in Tahoe next month and need something reliable.
Ive been looking at the EL-5 but I heard it wont even fire on older bodies which is a bummer for my backup kit. Does the Godox V1 really hold up or should I just stick to Canon?
Like someone mentioned, the V1 is okay, but I honestly love the Godox V860III-C TTL Li-Ion Flash for Canon more! It works on my old bodies perfectly and is way cheaper than Canon.
You should totally grab the Godox V1-C Round Head Flash for Canon! I honestly love it way more than the official Canon stuff right now. It is such a beast for wedding work.
Building on the earlier suggestion, I am totally struggling with those new shoe pins too! It's honestly so frustrating coming from the 5D where everything just worked. I've had so many accessory not supported errors and missed triggers it's insane!
Lol I was literally about to post the same thing. Glad someone else brought it up.
My buddy told me the exact same thing last week. Guess he was right lol.
