Just stumbled upon this while looking at my own upgrade path. Tbh when I moved over from the Sony ecosystem a few years back, I was really worried about the pricing trends here. I ended up snagging my current setup during a minor price dip and honestly, it has worked out perfectly for what I do. Im really satisfied with the performance to cost ratio I got compared to what I was seeing with the competition. I think if the Mark II stays around that four thousand mark itll be fairly reasonable compared to what Nikon is doing lately. My experience has been that waiting slightly for the initial hype to die down usually pays off. I stayed patient with the first version and it allowed me to put more into better glass which basically changed my whole workflow for the better. No complaints so far with how the brand handles their pricing cycles...

To add to the point above: it looks like most of you are expecting that 3900 price tag and suggesting a wait for the holidays.

• Launch prices are definitely steep for a beginner and might be a bit much.
• Be careful with grey market sellers since warranty issues are a nightmare for long-term ownership.
• I would suggest checking if you really need those extra specs before dropping four grand. I remember when I was first looking at gear and I got so obsessed with finding a deal that I drove way out to this liquidation warehouse in the middle of nowhere. I ended up getting a flat tire in their gravel parking lot and had to wait four hours for a tow truck. The driver was this really chill guy who told me all these stories about hauling broken down tour buses for famous country singers. I never even bought the camera that day because the store was closed by the time the tire was fixed and I just went home and ordered pizza. Anyway lol sorry kinda went off topic there.
