I've been shooting with my D850 for like five years now and I've always been a natural light only kind of person because I loved the look but honestly I'm starting to realize that's just an excuse for being scared of flash. Well I have this big indoor family reunion shoot coming up in three weeks in this really dim historic building in downtown Chicago and there is just no way I can pull it off without some artificial light. I tried using my old SB-700 that's been sitting in my bag for ages but the recycle times are just killing me and it feels like it's overheating after like ten shots at full power. Plus the interface on that thing is just so clunky compared to modern stuff.

I've been looking at the newer Nikon SB-5000 but it's so expensive and I'm wondering if the radio control is actually worth it if I don't have the right trigger setup yet. Or should I just jump ship to something like a Godox V1 or the AD200? I keep hearing people rave about the round head on the V1 for better light falloff in portraits but I'm worried about third-party reliability when I'm on a deadline. I need something that wont misfire when I'm trying to capture candid moments and has a decent battery life because I dont want to be fumbling with AA batteries all night like it's 2005.

Budget is around 400 or 500 bucks max but if there's a game changer for a bit more I could maybe swing it. I really need that soft, professional look for these portraits but I'm just spinning my wheels looking at specs. What are you guys using for your on-camera stuff lately that doesn't feel like a total brick and actually plays nice with the Nikon TTL system...

The budget is strictly $50 and I really need to make sure people dont buy the same thing twice. Im torn between using the invite button to add them as collaborators or just texting everyone the public link. If I add them as collaborators can they delete my items? But if I just send a link will it actually show what's been bought already so we dont get duplicates? I need to get this out in the next hour before my sisters start buying stuff. Which way is better for keeping the surprise but stopping double buys?

Ive been going back and forth on this for weeks now because I finally bit the bullet and picked up a 28mm Elmarit for my Leica M3. Obviously the frame lines on the M3 only go down to 50mm so Im basically flying blind right now and just guessing the edges based on the entire window but its not really working out for my street stuff. Im heading to Tokyo next month for a two week trip and I really want to have my framing dialed in before I go because I dont want to get home and realize half my shots are composed poorly.

I did a bunch of reading on the Leica SBOOI but thats specifically for 50mm and Im seeing mixed things about whether I should hunt down a vintage SLOOZ or if those are just overpriced paperweights now. The problem is the prices for original Leica finders are getting kinda insane lately and Im worried about buying something expensive only to find out it has internal haze or the brightlines have faded away. Then I looked into the Voigtlander 28mm metal finders which seem way more affordable and honestly look pretty sleek but some people on the forums were saying they have a lot of barrel distortion compared to the Zeiss ZM finders.

So I was thinking maybe the Zeiss is the way to go for clarity but man those things are bulky. My logic was that I want to keep the profile of the M3 low so it actually fits in my small leather sling bag without snagging. I have about $350 left in my gear budget for this and Im just stuck between going for a period correct Leica finder or just getting the modern Voigtlander and hoping the aesthetic doesnt bother me too much. Does the brightness of the modern finders really beat out the old Leica glass or am I just paying for the brand name at this point? Ive also seen some cheap plastic ones from Canon or Ricoh online but I'm worried theyll just slide right out of the accessory shoe while Im walking around Shinjuku...

I'm finally making the full jump to the Z6 for my wedding season this year after using DSLRs forever and I am so pumped to ditch the weight but I'm hitting a wall with glass choices. I've been a Nikon shooter since the D700 days so I know my way around a camera but the Z mount native stuff is just so expensive and I've heard the new Tamron glass is basically magic on these mirrorless bodies. I have a huge gig coming up in Savannah this October and the venue is this old dimly lit mansion so I need something fast and reliable because I cant be missing focus during the first dance. I was looking at the 28-75mm G2 because it seems like a solid workhorse but then I saw people raving about that 35-150mm f2-2.8 and now I'm torn.

My constraints:

Budget is strictly under $1900 for this one lens

Needs to be sharp enough for those big 24x36 prints

Weight matters but I'll sacrifice some for that f2.0 if its actually worth it

Autofocus has to keep up with erratic kids on the dance floor

Is the 35-150mm too heavy for an 8 hour day? I usually carry two bodies but if that lens can do it all maybe I can simplify. Or should I just stick to the classic 28-75 and save some cash for a prime?...

I need my buddy to look over the specific brands and sizes of the stove and sleeping pads i picked out before i checkout so we dont end up with doubles or stuff that doesnt fit in the truck.

I really thought there would be a simple share button by now but i cant find anything that doesnt involve me sharing my actual login credentials which is a huge no-go obviously. I tried moving things to a fresh list but half the items are those limited time deals and the prices keep flickering or they dont show up right in the list view. I even looked into that household sharing thing but that seems like overkill for just checking a cart one time. Is there some kind of third party tool or maybe a browser extension that generates a temporary link for a cart? Or some weird URL trick i dont know about?

How can i let him see exactly whats in my cart without having to screenshot every single page or hand over my password...

So we are doing this big family camping trip up at Lake Tahoe in about three weeks and honestly I am totally overwhelmed. I volunteered to handle the supplies because I thought it would be easy but now I am just staring at my Amazon cart and it has like fifty items in it. We have a budget of about six hundred dollars for the gear and food stuff but I really need my sister and my mom to look at what I picked out before I actually hit the buy button because knowing me I probably picked the wrong size tent or some weird brand of batteries that wont work.

I've got a bunch of stuff already in there like:

a big 6-person tent

those portable stove things

a huge pack of bug spray

some sleeping pads that look okay but I'm not sure

I feel so silly asking this because I use Amazon all the time for like laundry soap and cat food but I literally cannot find a way to just send my whole cart to them. Is there like a share button I am missing? I tried googling it and saw stuff about Amazon Fresh or something called a Wedding Registry but this isnt a wedding so that feels wrong to use. I just want them to be able to see the list and maybe add their own stuff to it if they want? Or at least see what I have so we dont buy double of everything.

Right now I am just taking screenshots on my phone and texting them one by one but it is taking forever and the quality is so bad they cant even read the prices. There has to be a better way than this right?? I am not a computer person at all so if it is complicated I might need a step by step thing. Is there an app or a setting I can turn on so we can all just look at the same basket? I am really worried I am gonna mess this up and we will end up in the woods with no flashlights lol. Does anyone know how to actually do this...
