Does anyone actually have a thumb grip and strap setup for the X-E4 that doesnt make the camera feel like a total brick or block all the buttons? I am seriously struggling here because the ergonomics on this thing are honestly non-existent and I am terrified of dropping it.

I have done a ton of reading and keep seeing the Lensmate one mentioned as the gold standard because it folds out of the way, but it is so expensive for what it is and I have seen some reviews saying it can get loose over time. Then there is the cheap Haoge one from Amazon which seems okay but some people say it blocks the rear command dial or makes it hard to press. I just want something that feels secure without ruining the sleek look of the camera.

I am leaving for a big trip to Tokyo in about three weeks so I need to get this ordered like yesterday. I am gonna be doing a lot of street photography in Shinjuku and Shibuya so I need a strap that is comfortable for all-day carry but doesnt look like a giant tourist rope. I looked at the Peak Design Leash but those bulky plastic anchors look kinda ridiculous on such a tiny body. Maybe a Gordys wrist strap? But then my hand might get tired. My budget is around $80-100 for both but if I can get away with spending less that would be great because I still need to buy more film. It is just so frustrating that Fuji made such a beautiful camera but forgot that people actually need to hold it...

I know my way around a camera but this new sensor is a different beast and it gets pretty toasty after like 15 minutes of recording.

Got about 800 bucks left in the budget. Should I prioritize that weird clip-on fan or just grab a decent cage and some V90 cards? Also looking for a compact top mic recommendation that wont catch the IBIS hum if thats still a thing...

Mostly the heat when I was testing some 4k 120p stuff earlier today - it got pretty toasty. I've got a gig at a local music festival in ten days and about $500 left to get this thing fully rigged up for handheld work. Do I actually need that weird bolt-on fuji fan or is it just a gimmick? Also looking for cage recs that dont block the top dials and maybe a suggestion for a solid cfexpress card that wont die during long flog2 sessions... sticking with sd cards feels like im bottlenecking this sensor.

What accessories do I actually need to make the Fuji X-E4 usable for a whole day of street shooting because right now I am literally losing my mind with how uncomfortable this thing is to hold? Look, I love the sensor and the film sims are gorgeous but the ergonomics are just... they are nonexistent. I feel like I am going to drop it every time I try to do a one-handed shot while walking through Camden or Soho. It is basically a slippery soap bar. I bought it because it looks cool and its small but man, my hand starts cramping after twenty minutes and the thumb rest situation is a joke. I have been looking at grips but there are like fifty different brands and I dont know if I should go with the official Fuji one or if those cheap third party ones are actually better?

And dont even get me started on the battery life. I went out yesterday and it died before I even finished my first coffee. It is so frustrating because I want to love this camera so much. I have a big trip to Tokyo coming up in three weeks and I really need to get this rig sorted before then because I dont want to be faffing around with chargers and hand cramps while I am trying to enjoy my vacation. I have about 350 pounds saved up to basically fix this camera and make it a street beast. Here is what I think I need but I am lost:

a grip that doesnt block the battery door

a thumb rest that actually feels secure

some kind of strap that works with the tilt screen

extra batteries that wont explode

Should I get a thumb grip or a full bottom grip? Are there any specific straps that dont get in the way of the tilt screen? I keep getting the strap caught when I try to do low angle shots and it drives me crazy. Also maybe a lens hood that doesnt make the whole thing massive? I am using the 27mm pancake mostly but even that feels weirdly unbalanced without some kind of extra weight or grip. Honestly just tell me what you guys use because I am about five seconds away from selling it and going back to my bulky DSLR even though I hate the weight... just need some real world advice on what actually works and what is just fluff for the aesthetic crowd.

I just upgraded to the X-T5 from my old X-T2 and honestly I'm kinda losing my mind with the ergonomics. I've been shooting Fuji for a decade so I thought I knew what I was getting into but the body feels way more cramped than I expected. My logic was that I'd just use my old straps and cards but man that 40MP sensor is just eating through my old V30 cards like crazy and the buffer is constantly lagging which is super annoying.

I'm heading to Iceland in like two weeks for a big landscape trip and I'm stressed about the weather sealing and the grip. I tried one of those cheap thumb grips from Amazon but it blocks the back dial and now I'm back to square one. I have about 300 bucks left in my gear budget for this month and I need to know what people are actually using to make this thing feel like a pro tool and not a toy. Do I need a full L-bracket or just the smallrig grip? And what about the batteries?

This new NP-W235 is better but I still feel like I'm constantly hovering over the power switch. What are the absolute must-haves that dont suck? I really need stuff that actually fits the build quality of the body and wont fall apart in the cold. My hands are just too big for this thing without some kind of extension but I dont want to add too much bulk if I can help it...

Im heading to Japan for two weeks next month and I really want to nail my setup without carrying a 20lb bag. I saw some people online swearing by the SmallRig hand grip but then others say it makes the camera too bulky for street photography in Tokyo. Also is a thumb grip actually useful or just one of those things people buy for the aesthetic? My budget for extra bits is around $300 and I already picked up some spare batteries. Just trying to figure out if I should drop money on a Peak Design strap or if the stock one is fine for long days of walking...

I finally upgraded to the Fuji X-T5 after years with my old X-T20 and while the tech is amazing I am literally about to lose my mind with the ergonomics. My hands are not even that huge but the grip on this thing feels so shallow compared to my friends Sony. I'm taking a trip up to Olympic National Park in like 10 days and I know if I dont find a solution my wrist is gonna be killing me after an hour of hiking with the 16-55mm lens which is way heavier than I expected. It just feels like I'm gonna drop it if I dont squeeze it super hard.

I did some digging and everyone keeps pointing to the official Fujifilm MHG-XT5 grip but man is it pricey for what it is. Like almost 130 bucks just for a piece of metal? Its honestly ridiculous. Then I saw the SmallRig one which is way cheaper but I read a few reviews saying the battery door access is kind of a pain or it adds too much weight and makes it feel like a brick. I want the camera to stay relatively compact because thats why I went with Fuji in the first place but I need to actually be able to hold the damn thing.

Some people swear by those wood grips from JB Camera Designs but they look like they might be more for aesthetics than actually helping with the hold and they take forever to ship. I also saw some weird L-brackets that have a grip built in but I dont even use a tripod that often so it seems like overkill. My pinky keeps dangling off the bottom and it's driving me crazy. I just want something that lets my hand actually feel secure without spending a fortune or making the camera look like a giant mess. Does anyone have a real world recommendation for something that fits well and isnt gonna fall apart in a month? I need to order something by Friday or it wont get here before my flight...
